No Limit To Our Frustration

Well, another day has passed and we know the Embassy is closed and once again no word. Our congressman's staff said that we should e-mail the Embassy directly but this was initially discouraged by our agency as the address is intended for adoption agencies and not necessarily parents.  Our congressman said that since the address is public, that we should contact them too.

I'm stuck because I promised that we would not attempt to contact the Embassy directly, and I'm not in the habit of breaking my word. I've e-mailed our agency and told them what my congressman's staff member said and am waiting for their response.  I am trying so hard to keep trusting and in my heart, I know God is going to work this out but my mind is betraying me as my frustration level cannot even be measured at this point.  I don't want to hound the Embassy to the point that they blackball us and at the same time, I want a response....I'm stressed, stressed, stressed.

The Embassy is closed tomorrow and will reopen on Thursday (they are closed on Fridays) and then closed again until Monday. I want to enjoy this time before travel as it should be exciting and fun but this is putting a huge damper on that.

Thank you so much for the prayers.

UPDATE:

We've been given permission to send an e-mail, so that's done.  At this stage of the game, we are praying that they will respond to at least one of us!

Tomorrow, the head person for our agency in Africa, Duni, will be personally visiting the Embassy to see if they will talk to her.  Oh, I know it's Veteran's Day tomorrow but apparently at least some staff members typically work on American holidays.  In our experience and observation with the ET Program at AWAA, when Duni gets involved things happen.  Please pray for a determined Duni and softened hearts at the Embassy!

Erica,
Thanks for the updates. Sorry that you are having to go through this instead of enjoying this time.
Praying for Duni (who has the reputaion of being a determined dynamo) and for softened hearts at the Embassy. My prayer for you today:
"God, You see, You know, You hear and are all powerful. Please do what we cannot in getting papers where they neeed to be, empowering your servants, changing hearts and bringing Maura home.
Please fill the Reed family and especially sweet Erica with your presence and peace that goes beyond understanding. Help her to trust like never before in Your unfailing love and faithfulness. Surround little Maura with Your presence and protection and help her to know how LOVED she is. In Jesus Name, Amen"
Love and hugs and prayers,
Debi

Lifting the family up now, Erica. Have faith. Your daughter will be touched one day to know what you went through to get her home.

Praying! I can understand why you are stressed. Fortunately, God isn't. And He's the One with the power.
