A Little Boy Prays for His Sissy

As we were finishing lunch today, our phone rang and it was my sister, Leigh (aka "Bo Bo" to Ashton). Leigh is currently attending her 6th week at Marines Officer Candidate School in Quantico, Virginia. She was just about to report back after some free time and wanted to call home one last time just to say, "I love you and I'm praying for tomorrow." As she and Ashton were talking, he began to remind her that tonight, while we are sleeping, a judge in Ethiopia will decide whether or not to grant our adoption. In our household, we pray about anything and at any given point. For example, if Ash hears an ambulance or siren, then we all have to stop everything and pray RIGHT THEN just in case someone is hurt. Well, today was no different because midstream of conversation, he and BoBo stopped and had prayer. He's grinning in the picture because at that moment I could hear BoBo praying that the judge wouldn't be ill (as in a bad mood) but would be in a good mood. Last week, some friends of ours happened to get a judge who wasn't having the best day and refused to allow the birth mother to testify at a 2nd hearing because she was late the day before. Ash is very specific in his prayers, so he wanted to make sure that the judge is happy when it is our turn at court! Some days, I could just eat him up!

Friends and family, you are absolutely wonderful! I've gotten messages from people I haven't seen in over 15 years saying that they are praying! You will never know how much we appreciate your support, encouragement, and thoughtfulness. I hope tomorrow allows each of you to meet our adorable little girl!
